Frustration at Monza

After leading for over half the 4-hour race at Monza, ultimately it proved a frustrating race weekend following a hit from a following car and spin, dropping the United No2 car from 1st position to 5th.

Under incredibly hot conditions the 3rd round of the 2022 ELMS Championship got underway this past weekend with the No2 car starting in 4th after an excellent qualifying session.

On the opening lap Josh Caygill moved up to 3rd and chipped away to lead the LMP2 race from his 2nd stint in the car. Bailey took over after the Bronze session had finished and, once the pit-stop cycle had finished, led the race for the majority of his session. Finally Finn Gehrsitz took the reins in 1st, only to be hit off 15 minutes from the end by the chasing car, which, although penalised for the move, was little consolation and ultimately meant the No2 car was brought over the line in 5th.

Despite the disappointing result, the car had amazing race pace and the 3 drivers demonstrated a compelling and competitive driver line up.

A special thank you to José, Bastien and Miguel of Soler-Liguel Swiss Watches for their amazing support this weekend.
